ACTORS THEATRE COMMUNITY AWARDS
WOMEN IN MUSIC COMMUNITY AWARDS
Twelve "Ella Awards" will be given in February as a tribute to the remarkable musicianship and career of Ella Fitzgerald, in conjunction with the production of Ella, a musical portrait about the songstress, which is onstage at Actors Theatre January 26 - February 20. These awards will be given to African American Women in Music with a connection with the Louisville community who have made a significant contribution to the world of music, whether it be as a singer, instrumentalist, composer or producer.

A RAISIN IN THE SUN FAMILY AWARD FOR COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

In recognition of the Woodford Porter Family
In 2008, in honor of the 50th anniversary of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, Actors Theatre honored the Woodford Porter Family for their community leadership. The Porter Family was recognized at an event, sponsored by Republic Bank and E.ON US in a special pre-show reception and ceremony.

WOMEN OF SPUNK
HONORING LOCAL WOMEN WHO HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE

In 2007, in honor of author Zora Neale Hurston, Actors Theatre honored local women with spunk who have overcome hardships and made a difference in their community. Honorees, selected by an advisory group, were recognized at an event, sponsored by E.ON US, in a special pre-show reception and ceremony in conjunction with the production of Spunk.

KEEPING THE CHRONICLE
In 2006, in honor of author August Wilson, Actors Theatre recognized special community members who have worked to preserve the collective memory of all aspects of African American life in the Louisville. Honorees, selected by an advisory group, were recognized at an event, sponsored by E.ON US, in a special pre-show reception and ceremony, in conjunction with the production of Gem of the Ocean.
